Yael Navaro
Yael Navaro is Professor of Social, Political and Psychological Anthropology at the University of Cambridge. She is the author of Faces of the State: Secularism and Public Life in Turkey (Princeton University Press, 2002), The Make-Believe Space: Affective Geography in a Postwar Polity (Duke University Press, 2012), and co-editor of Reverberations: Violence Across Time and Space (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2021). Her recent research has been supported by a European Research Council grant entitled “Living with Remnants: Politics, Subjectivity and Materiality in the Aftermath of Past Atrocities in Turkey” (2012-16), where she was PI. She is a co-convener of the Archives of the Disappeared research network.
